We have chosen French as our chosen Modern Foreign Language due to its geographical proximity and staff subject knowledge. Our focus on French aims to provide pupils with a firm foundation in listening, speaking and reading, fostering their confidence and enjoyment in using another language.
Our French curriculum is delivered from Years 3 to Year 6 in our mixed age class grouping. Lessons are designed to be engaging, interactive, and practical, making language learning enjoyable and accessible for all pupils. Pupils are introduced to French through songs, rhymes, and simple phrases. The focus is on developing listening skills and encouraging spoken language. By the end of their primary education, our pupils will have developed a basic proficiency in French, an understanding of the cultural aspects of French-speaking countries and an appreciation of the importance of learning a foreign language.
