Maths

Our teaching of mathematics has been carefully developed alongside Maths Hub support to ensure coverage of the national curriculum, and new DfE ready to progress criteria through the careful selection of NCETM and White Rose Maths resources.  Although children are taught in mixed age groups, we have developed a clear skills progression to ensure they are taught and learn what they need to at the appropriate times. Teachers achieve this through carefully timetabled small group work and the utilisation of technology to impact teacher led and independent learning.  As well as embedding numeracy skills and efficient methods, we want our teaching of mathematics to promote thinking and reasoning skills which our pupils can readily draw upon to demonstrate both mastery of the subject and to prepare them for the next step of their education journey and adult life.
